I’ve only just found out that Google does graphs. These at least, appear to be working better than Google Translate, and Google Calculator.
Go to google.com and paste the following into the search:
(sqrt(cos(x))*cos(200x)+sqrt(abs(x))-0.7)*(4-x*x)^0.01, sqrt(9-x^2), -sqrt(9-x^2) from -4.5 to 4.5

There, now you know!
Next time you bake a cake, you’ll need 1.39934984 x 10-8 m6 of butter.
No more. No less.
Google have rolled out a new feature, the navigation bar. Basically the Google logo on whatever Google site you are currently on turns into a menu of other Google sites. I’ve noticed that some of the sites I’ve clicked through to don’t have it implemented yet, which makes it rather pointless in some ways and I hope that they will update all of them so that it works across the board. Here is a screenshot of it.

Spotted this tweet today: “Never forget a keyboard shortcut again! Type “?” in Gmail to see a full list of shortcuts: http://goo.gl/VJCVE #tuesdaytip”
Indeed, if you have Keyboard Shortcuts enabled in your Gmail Settings page, typing “?” will produce a neat looking reference guide with the shortcuts available to you.

All day today, my inbox has been bombarded with news articles about Google’s freshly launched ‘Instant’ search feature whereby results are returned as-you-type your search query. One particular comment by pmichner caught my attention. It reads:
So if while I’m typing “farthest” I’ll see results for fart?
Well, here’s the answer! Click this thumbnail to see what Google does.

Am I the only person wondering how long it will be before the first flaws of ‘SafeSearch’ are identified and surface? I can just picture it now, some kid typing the first few characters of a harmless search, only to have inappropriate material forced into their face.
I’ll leave that test to others, but what do you think about this new feature?
I’ve just had a play with a new Google feature whereby you can upload any image of choice to be used as the background on the search engine’s page. I like what I see but I am sure that it won’t last for long. It severely slows the page load time. I’ll give it a few more hours. Click the thumbnail for a larger version of my test with one of my own photos.
Note that the image in the popup might be blurred. If it is, you can right click on it, select “View Image” and check that your zoom level is 100% on it.
