Although I was driving when this was taken, I didn’t take this photo! 🙂

Antonis Taxi

Taken with a Canon Exilim EX-1200

Antonis is a multilingual taxi driver, spotted on the Lemesos to Pafos highway. Unfortunately, even after he has FINISHed listing the languages he speaks, he must be a pretty useless taxi driver if he doesn’t speak Greek!

Humour aside, as he more than likely does speak Greek, hats off to him.

OK, so MS Word has flagged the above real sentence, written by a real person, as grammatically incorrect. When I ask it why, it says: Fragment (consider revising). When I ask it to explain, it says:

If the marked words are an incomplete thought, consider developing this thought into a complete sentence by adding a subject or a verb or combining this text with another sentence.

Instead of: Meteors the entire night.
Consider: We watched meteors the entire night.

Instead of: Because the teacher said to.
Consider: You have to, because the teacher said to.

Can any language boffins out there help identify the mistake(s) in more detail?
